Fold Lamp Shade

The hand made ‘Fold’ light shade is created by the very talented, Karen Henriksen.

Still soft like it's cousin the 'Bloom' light shade, the Fold offers a little more structure and more of a linear shape. Great over a dining room table, in an office or again, in a bedroom or living room.

It also creates a beautifully filtered light and it available in a choice of 6 soft colours.

Created from folded pleats of banana fibre around a handmade drum. 

Evoking a kind of abstract origami, the ‘Fold’ lightshade has a lyrical and diaphanous quality. Taking inspiration from couture millinery, the banana fibre (also known as sinamay) has been cut on the bias, allowing it to flow harmoniously around the central drum in undulating loops and folds.

The abstract and asymmetrical nature of the drapery gives the light shade a slightly different appearance from all angles, and means that each one is unique.

This light shade is supplied with a removable diffuser - a disc overlaid with sinamay folds - so the bulb is obscured.

This product is a light shade only and will fit over your current ceiling bulb as a normal lampshade would so no need to book in the electrician!
